Ankaragucu vs Duzyurtspor match preview!

Before we look at this weekends match with Duzyurspor, i just wanted to update the Kanka group on some breaking news this week. Selim Teber has terminated his contract with the club after failing to overcome a serious injury which has kept him out this season. The Ankaragucu management team said he is welcome back at the club once he gets over his injury problems.

President Mehmet Yiginer has reduced the ticket prices for this weekends game in line with what they were last season. Not all good news for the club though as Yiginer today announced he will leave the club in January with the view of becoming President of Lig 3 side Sekerspor to continue his footballing career.

Former president Cemal Aydin also spoke this week reminding the fans of the damage the Gokceks have done to the club claiming they are to blame for all the problems. Who could disagree with him there?

Onto this weekends match, and Ankaragucu are back in action after a 2 week break due to last weeks Diyarbakir BB match being postponed with all the trouble thats going on in Diyarbakir and the Turkish border with Syria.

They host Birlik Nakliyat Duzyurtspor at the 19 Mayis stadium on Sunday night looking to make it 2 wins in a row for the first time this season. A 1-0 home win over Polatli gave Mustafa Kaplan his first win in his second spell at the club and he has had a lot of time to work with the players in training over the last couple of weeks.

The Ankaragucu fans will not only be looking for a win, but also a good performance to go with it. The likes of Levent Kale, Mehmet Erdem, Gokhan Erdogan, Hasan Ayaroglu and Umut Nayir haven't hit their best form yet with both Hasan and Levent looking to get back to full fitness.

Duzyurtspor lost 1-0 at home to Pazarspor last time out and sit 14th in Lig 2. Gokhan Erdol will be their star player and the man Ankaragucu will need to watch having scored 3 goals in 8 matches from Midfield this season.

It will be interesting to see if the break has served Ankaragucu well and gave them time to prepare under new coach Mustafa Kaplan as well as getting key players back to full fitness, or will it be another turgid frustrating performance? Jim will have the full match report on Sunday night or Monday morning.

  1. It is not 'knee jerk' time yet, but ........... it soon will be if Ankaragucu don't start putting a winning sequence together.

I'm not talking politics, and I hope we don't have any of that effin bullshit of bad mouthing the management on Sunday.

Nothing less than a good performance and a convincing win will do to show that Ankaragucu is serious about pushing on and joining the promotion scrap.

With all due respect to Duzyurt, what better time to do it than against one of the weaker teams in the league !
